The Leader of Opposition asserted that temporary measures by the ruling dispensation are nothing but an attempt to mislead the public.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday filed a complaint against a private FM channel with the Election Commission for allegedly spreading propaganda against the party.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Election Officer at Shillong, BJP member Ankur Kumar complained against the radio channel for broadcasting “illegal propaganda” against the party.
The party claimed that the channel aired the content with “the aim and intent of communalising the on-going election process” in Meghalaya.

“Messages like ‘Don’t vote for anti-Christian Party’, is being promoted through the Radio. One such message was also broadcast today at 12.48 pm,” the BJP said in the letter.
Demanding a stop on divisive advertisements that try to communalise the elections, the BJP urged the Election Commission to take action against the Radio channel as well as the advertiser.
